College football season is finally here. We’re more than excited to give you our Kentucky football predictions and make our pick on the Wildcats’ win total. Kentucky is coming off of a 7-5 season. This was slightly disappointing for the ‘Cats, as they hoped to win at least a couple more games that could’ve gone the other way. They had their good moments last year, and showed some glimmers of greatness at times. However, they did have some weak spots last year, which they should’ve addressed over this offseason and will continue to look to improve on.

The SEC is always a tough conference to compete in, and a 7-5 record is not what a school like Kentucky is striving for. However, this team is always good for some minor upsets, and it’ll all come down to how much this team has improved and if they can find a way to beat some of the juggernauts in their conference. Keep reading for our best bets and Kentucky football predictions on the Wildcats win total available at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Kentucky Wildcats Football Win Total Predictions, Picks & Best Bets for 2023-24

Football is back, and the Kentucky Wildcats are a fun team to look at going into this season. They have a lot to be excited about, and are hoping for a big bounce back season after last year. However, it should always be noted that the Wildcats play in a very tough SEC, and this year’s schedule features five away games. This also includes a game against Alabama, which all but guarantees a loss on the schedule.

The current win total for Kentucky is set at seven games, which makes our Kentucky football predictions and Wildcats win total very difficult to decide on. Various analysts have already stated that they predict Kentucky landing directly on this number of wins. We believe differently, however, and can see Kentucky winning just enough games to go over seven.

In the offseason, Kentucky was able to add quarterback Devin Leary. There are high hopes for Leary, as he is fully healthy again after tearing a pectoral muscle and only playing in six games for NC State last year. In 2021, though, Leary threw for over 3,000 yards and a whopping 35 touchdowns. It should also be noted that he threw only five interceptions that year. If the Wildcats want to upset some powerhouse teams, they’ll have to take care of the football, which Leary has proven to do.

Another positive that is exciting for Kentucky fans is the return of offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who will hopefully pair nicely with Devin Leary. The running game and offensive line were a weakness last year for the Wildcats, and we assume this was a huge emphasis this offseason. The main issue for last year's squad was definitely the offensive line, which leaves the biggest question marks for this team. Head Coach Mark Stoops is likely all over it though, and any improvement in that area could just push this Wildcats win total over.

On the flip side, the Wildcats tend to have a very strong defense, and they will be returning some key players this year. This leads us to believe that a bit of offensive improvement could lead the Wildcats to a couple of upsets and a total of eight wins. In order to get those eight wins, however, Kentucky will have to beat at least one of the following teams: Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Alabama or South Carolina. Some of these games are certainly more winnable for the Wildcats than others. Our experts believe that Florida, Mississippi State, and South Carolina are all potential upset games.

With all of this being said, our official Kentucky football predictions are that the offense will see great improvement with Devin Leary behind center and Liam Coen settling into his second year as the Wildcats offensive coordinator. With an improved offense and an already respectable defense, our Wildcats’ win total prediction is over 7 wins at DraftKings Sportsbook (-115).

Latest Kentucky Football Odds & Betting Lines for 2023-24 Courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook: Win Total

The betting lines on our Kentucky football predictions are basically what we would expect them to be for this season. The current odds on the Wildcats’ win total at DraftKings Sportsbook is set at:

  • Over/Under 7 Regular Season Wins
    • Over 7 (-115) vs. Under 7 (-105)

As stated above, we’re willing to take a shot at the over with this Kentucky team. Despite their difficult schedule, we think that the worst case is a push on this total, in the case of Kentucky finishing with exactly seven wins. We have plenty of reasons to believe Kentucky will improve upon last year’s season, and this will need to include some exciting upsets in 2023-24.
